Arch Dams

Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) and Arch Dams represent the key areas of specialisation for ARQ and the majority of the company’s large dams activities are focussed on RCC.

Pictures are of the following:

  • Yusufeli HEPP – Çoruh River, Black Sea Region, Turkey. The impoundment for the Yusufeli HEPP will be created by a 273 m high, double-curvature conventional concrete arch dam, which will comprise approximately 2.80 million m3 of concrete.
  • Changuinola 1 Dam – Bocas del Toro Province, Panama. The dam comprises a 105 m high RCC arch/gravity structure, with a crest length of 590 m and contains a concrete volume of 895 000 m3.
