Riaan Jooste is a senior engineering geologist and registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat) with more than 10 years of experience in the geotechnical and engineering geology industry. He specialises in geotechnical investigations, dolomite stability assessments, and slope stability assessments for a wide range of infrastructure and mining-related projects both locally and internationally.

Riaan has extensive experience in the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations for tailings storage facilities, roads, bridges, pipelines, mining infrastructure, offshore developments, and commercial and residential projects. His expertise includes test pitting, rotary core drilling and logging, percussion drilling, geophysical surveys, CPTu supervision, geological and geotechnical mapping, geological modelling, and geotechnical interpretation.

He has also developed strong capabilities in slope stability assessments through joint line surveys, discontinuity mapping, orientated core logging, and kinematic analysis for both mining and infrastructure developments. In addition, Riaan has considerable experience in dolomite investigations conducted in accordance with SANS 1936 requirements, including the compilation of Dolomite Risk Management Plans and liaison with the Council for Geoscience. Riaan currently heads up the geotechnical investigations department of the company where he leads a team of engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers.
