Sheyaam earned her BSc in Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in 2018. She furthered her education by completing a Project Management course at the University of Stellenbosch in 2020.

Following her graduation, Sheyaam joined a graduate program at Stefanutti Stocks, where she participated in various training sessions and construction practicals. She then transitioned to Stefanutti Stocks Technical Services in the mining sector, gaining exposure to the operational aspects of tailings and waste disposal.

In 2021, Sheyaam took on the role of Junior Engineer at Geotheta Consulting Engineers and was later promoted to Technical Manager in 2022. During her tenure at Geotheta, she was actively involved in numerous Tailings Storage Facility inspections and contributed to a range of projects within Geotechnical Engineering, particularly focusing on tailings. Her work encompassed design, monitoring, and operational responsibilities.

In 2024, Sheyaam joined ARQ Geotech as a Geotechnical and Tailings Engineer.
