ARQ lead the dam design team for Eskom’s 1330 MW Ingula Pump Storage Scheme, for which the 48 m high Bedford CFRD dam forms the upstream reservoir and the 37 m high Bramhoek RCC gravity dam forms the lower reservoir. During construction, ARQ provided the Approved Professional Person, as required in terms of the Dam Safety Legislation, for the construction supervision of the Bramhoek Dam.

 Bramhoek Dam comprises approximately 90 000 m³ of RCC and the dam structure was completed in late 2010, with a view to allowing several wet seasons to fill the reservoir before the pump storage scheme becomes operational. Good rains experienced at the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011, however, resulted in the dam almost filling to capacity during its first year.
