ARQ was appointed to do the detail design and site supervision of the Highway Structure along route C3B (Pinetown to Umgeni River). It involved the preparation of the tender documents for the St Johns underpass, design and preparation of the tender documents for the retaining walls on Contract 1T12938, 39 and 40; and the preliminary design of 11^th Avenue intersection.

General site monitoring which involved, site establishment, quality control procedure approvals, concrete mix design test and approvals, pre- and post concrete inspections, locating of services, compiling site instructions as well as Project Management for the high voltage power line relocation, medium voltage power line relocation, Telkom line relocation, Neotel, Vodacom & MTN communication line relocation, water line relocation, sewer line relocation, negotiations and acquisition of PTO’s (permission to occupy) from private property owners adjacent to the route.

ARQ is responsible for implementing proto type bus station development and coordinating the implementation of the construction; full life cycle of smaller sub-contracts entailing the following aspects: inception, concept and viability, design development, documentation and procurement, contract administration and close out.
