Dr Quentin Shaw elected as the Chairperson of the South African National Committee on Large Dams (SANCOLD)

ARQ is proud to announce that Dr Quentin Shaw was elected as the Chairperson of the South African National Committee on Large Dams (SANCOLD) at the management committee meeting at the end of February.  The term of office is 2017 to 2019. Quentin has served on the Management Committee of SANCOLD since 2010 and was Vice-Chairman from 2012 to 2016. Quentin also serves as the South African representative of the ICOLD Committee on Concrete Dams, for whom he is currently leading the preparation of the update of Bulletin 126 on RCC Dams. Quentin hopes to have the draft bulletin ready for presentation at this year’s ICOLD annual meeting in Prague in July.  

Quentin was also recently made a Fellow of the UK Institution of Civil Engineers.
