During her 22 years of post-graduate experience, Michelle has focussed on dam engineering, working on dams from 7 to 105 m in height. She has been involved in planning, detailed design and construction supervision for both new dams and rehabilitation work on existing structures.

Michelle has worked on aspects including foundation analysis and design, hydraulic evaluation and design, structural design, construction works design, materials and concrete and RCC quality control. Over the past 22 years with ARQ, Michelle has been significantly involved in various types of dams, taking a specific interest in embankment and RCC materials. Michelle is currently a specialist Dam Engineer and Director of ARQ Dams(Pty) Ltd. She has presented 10 technical papers on material and foundation dam engineering and RCC dam engineering. She currently serves on the Management Committee of SANCOLD.
